Day one: Culture clash...

Ok, here goes. Mondays are my Saturdays, so I can wear whatever I damn well please...which usually results in some kind of absurdist mishmash of awesome and impractical. Today is no exception, obviously. My Russian Federation hat is one of my absolute prized possessions, as is my buffalo plaid flannel cowboy shirt. In a bizarre way, they just seem made for each other. Really, I absolutely adore everything I'm wearing right now, which I think makes for a happy day, even if I do get some odd looks at the supermarket. Sorry for the fuzziness...we were in-between storms, and the quality of the light was very strange; the camera didn't want to focus on anything.

Russian Federation naval hat, thrifted; Gap coat, Buffalo Exchange; vintage bag; plaid shirt, Delias; Banana Republic wool trousers, thrifted and altered; necklace, self made; Carlos Santana shoes, TJ Maxx.

  2. J'adoreeeeeeeeee. I agree; dressing for the winter is hard! I'm beginning to seriously regret not including my LL Bean duck boots in my remix, but you appear to be handling the winter with panache!

  4. Your look is soo kitchy and cool!! I'm not sure I could pull off that hat, I'm afraid it would wear me. You, though are ToTALLY wearing it. Nicely done.

  5. I will admit I had my doubts when I read "fur hat and buffalo plaid", but the finished ensemble is quite classy indeed! (The shoes totally make it.) You're a lumberjack and you are MORE THAN okay! :D

  7. I love how quirky this outfit is! And the shoes are divine. I picked boring, safe shoes. Frown.
